Witches brew is so good for you!

Wow It's Thursday already and Halloween Eve and time for making final feast plans! What about a yummy witches brew for your little ghosts and goblins? I love making punch, because children and adults too so love to see your yummy concoction and use that ladle to get their own.....So much fun! I have found a cute little recipe that I am going to try and I also found some cute ideas for serving it up to all of your spooky guests!

First here is a punch recipe I found at DLTK and it is so easy. Now one thing I noticed too is it sounds exactly like sparkling grape juice sew you could easily use that but it would probably be more expensive....

Ingredients:
3 pints purple grape juice
1 1/2 pints club soda
grapes
apples

Directions:
Mix the grape juice and soda in a pitcher. Halve the grapes and take out the seeds if there are any.
Cut the apple into small chunks.
Float the fruit in the brew just before serving; by magic, the grapes and apples will look just like eyes and teeth.
Does that sound adorable?

Now for the presentation, I also found this at semi-homemade from Sandra Lee. Her recipe is also there for an adult witches brew. I have made this old Southern Punch many times since I was young and it's easy and very yummy but I didn't include it here as I like the Purple color of the Children's punch....But I do love her ideas here on presenting it...

Wearing heavy duty gloves or using tongs, place the block of dry ice in the bottom of the cauldron. (Dry ice will burn skin, so handle it with gloves and tongs and keep it away from kids and pets!)
Use an ice pick to break the block into smaller chunks, if necessary.
Fill the cauldron with just enough water to cover the dry ice. It will begin to "steam."
Place the punch bowl inside the cauldron, on top of the dry ice. The cauldron will appear to be magically smoking.
Entrap the sterilized rubber hand between the cauldron and the punch bowl, squeezing it tight so the hand appears to be reaching out of the mist for help. Hot-glue the hand to the cauldron, if necessary, to hold it in place.

I am going to try the dry ice as I have one of those plastic cauldrons so wish me luck. I hope it turns out really cute......I think it would be just as adorable in a Halloween themed bowl or just a punch bowl with little bit of spider webs and spiders around it too! Enjoy your holiday and let me know if you have a great recipe too and post it's link! I'm glad you stopped by:)

Halloween Yummies for that Ghoolish little Tummy!

Gosh is it Monday already? No say it ain't so my friends, please, so not ready for Monday yet....Well that does mean that Halloween is getting oh so close.......Have you decided what your Halloween feast might be? Here is a fun and cute idea that your family might really love!! I found these on Pillsbury.com and love them sew much, don't you? Here is the fun and simple little recipe, enjoy and let me know what you think! If you want to print the recipe from Pillsbury.com just click on the name and it will take you to their website.....By the way, reviewers have given this 5 stars!

Ingredients
1 can of crescent rolls or the new dough sheet
2 1/2 slices of American cheese
10 Large Hotdogs
Cooking Spray
Mustard or Ketchup, if desired
Directions
1. Heat oven to 375 degrees.
2. If using crescent rolls: Unroll dough; separate at perforations, creating 4 rectangles. Press perforations to seal. If using dough sheet: Unroll dough; cut into 4 rectangles.
3. With knife or kitchen scissors, cut each rectangle lengthwise into 10 pieces, making a total of 40 pieces of dough. Slice cheese slices into quarters (1/2 slice cheese, cut in half).
4.Wrap 4 pieces of dough around each hot dog and 1/4 slice of cheese to look like "bandages," stretching dough slightly to completely cover hot dog. About 1/2 inch from one end of each hot dog, separate "bandages" so hot dog shows through for "face." On ungreased large cookie sheet, place wrapped hot dogs (cheese side down); spray dough lightly with cooking spray
5. Bake 13 to 17 minutes or until dough is light golden brown and hot dogs are hot. With mustard, draw features on "face."

More Great Halloween Ideas from The Martha, A Witches Curtain!

Good morning everyone!! I hope you are enjoying a happy and blessed Sunday and I'm sew excited that you are visiting me today......Glad to see ya:) More Halloween treats and this is another I think wonderful idea from MarthaStewart.com. Now I am going to try this at my front door this year. This is of course Martha Stewart's photo so I hope mine will be this neat. The directions for this are super easy......And one thing I really love about this site is all the projects are reviewed and folks are really helpful in the feedback too.......So this is all you need to make this Witches Curtain!

Lay a heavy-duty black garbage bag flat on a work surface, open end toward you. With scissors, cut 1 1/2-inch vertical strips from the bottom, stopping a few inches from the top. Cut open one side seam, then unfold bag. Use masking tape or tacks to hang. Then, with hands a few inches apart, grasp each strand and pull; stretch strands in several places for a decrepit effect

Now isn't this the neatest and sounds so easy. If it looks like something you might want to try, here is Martha Stewarts' article and it came from her 2004 Issue of her magazine. I love finding fun ideas like this that are also easy on our budgets but really creative. Like i mentioned in my other post about her website, you will find literally 100's of wonderful Halloween ideas. Enjoy and let me know if you try it! Oh and read all the comments under her article too for helpful hints:) On of the hints suggest you use a super heavy duty bag and be careful when you are stretching it........Oh I love Halloween!
